I take great care to focus on the genealogical, historical and editorial needs of my clients. Therefore, I limit the number of research cases I handle at any given time.

My area for on-site research is primarily north Georgia (particularly Dawson, Forsyth, Lumpkin and Hall Counties), but I am always excited to travel to adjacent areas whenever I’m in pursuit of an ancestor. I also research extensively online, utilizing resources and techniques I’ve gathered through the years.

Genealogical Research

Need help with your family research? I offer a wide range of genealogical services that can set you on the right path. I continually practice my craft, utilizing both the skills I have learned through the years and the tools currently available for research. I am constantly in pursuit of new resources and techniques and there is little I enjoy more than a challenge. So if you need help, however great or small, I would love the opportunity to assist you with your family tree.

Also note, whenever possible, I use a camera and Photoshop to capture and process images of documents. It’s a unique service I like to offer my clients so they get a better feel for those old records left behind by their ancestors.

Writing and Editing

Do you have an idea you would like to get on paper? Is that idea on paper, but you’re not sure if it’s grammatically correct or littered with typos? Sometimes it feels as if you’ve stared so long at something you have written, your eyes begin to cross and those punctuation marks you have struggled to use correctly have developed a life of their own. I can help!

I am also happy to assist with transcribing documents when needed. So if that deed from 1832 has you flustered, take a deep breath and contact me.

Property Pedigrees

When you think of genealogy, you think of researching the lineage of family members, right? Well have you ever thought of doing the same sort of investigation for the land upon which you were raised?

Family research has always been my passion, but in recent years, I have found myself drawn into analyzing and understanding land histories. What began as a curiosity about the most constant ‘family member’ in all our old family photos (the plot of earth in the background, our farm), has become a major avenue of research for me professionally. I can honestly say, after creating family trees for more than three dozen properties, I’m hooked! So if you own a piece of land you’re curious about, contact me.
